Computing
I have always been intersted in computing or more acurately in what computers could do for me.
As you will have probably picked up, I have more than a passing interst in astronomy and space, an computers are an invaluable tool to assist in these hobbies... beats pen and paper any day!
My earliest experience was with a Sinclair ZX81, which I programmed in both BASIC and Assembler, which was all stored on a precarious connection to a domestic cassette tape. Each line of code was entered by hand from lisiting in magazines or from printouts circulated via specialist groups.. oh those were the days!
Nowadays, I am a firm believer in Microsoft Windows, Vista and XP, even given all their faults and bad press.
I still enjoy "dabbling" with programming, using the Visual Studio Express (free) Edition of VB .Net, indeed, this website has been created by Visual Web Developer 2008.
That's not to say that I haven't dabbled with other platforms, I have used Apple Macs and Linux before but I still prefer the Windows experience...
